Orange Hits the Road for Weekend Games

LOUISVILLE, KY – The Orange goes back on the road to face Louisville on Friday, September 21 at 7 p.m. Both squads split their two games during the opening weekend of league competition.

Syracuse (4-4-1) is coming off Sunday's 2-1 setback to Providence. The Orange scored first on a goal from Jenna Rickan in the second half, but the Friars' Lauren Elia notched two goals to decide the game.

THE SERIES
Syracuse and Louisville are facing off for the third time in program history as the Cardinals lead the series 2-0. The teams most recently played each other in 2009 when Louisville won 2-0.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Louisville is coming off a 2-0 win against DePaul where the Cardinals outshot the Blue Demons 14-5. UofL is 6-2 on the season with a 1-1 record in BIG EAST play.

The Cardinals are led by head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes, who is in her 13th season with the team. Last season Ferguson-Dayes led Louisville to a program-best 14 wins along with a BIG EAST National Division Title and an appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16 for the first time in school history.

ORANGE FEATURES BALANCED SCORING ATTACK
Seniors Rosina Callisto and Jenna Rickan each scored their first goal of the season last week. Callisto's came in the Syracuse's 3-2 victory against Connecticut, while Rickan converted a penalty kick for SU's only goal against Providence. The Orange has now had eight different players score goals this season.
