• Syracuse plays its inaugural season in the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2013. The Orange brings the nation's premier field hockey conference's total of programs to seven.
• All seven ACC teams are currently ranked in the NFHCA Top 20, including six of the top eight (No. 1 Maryland, No. 3 North Carolina, No. 4 Syracuse, No. 6 Virginia, No. 7 Boston College and No. 8 Duke).
• ACC teams have been dominant in non-conference games this season, amassing a 67-5 mark for a winning percentage of .931.
• ACC teams have won 10 out of the last 11 national championships and had at least one team in the title game for each of the last 14 years.
ORANGE RANKED NO. 4
• After spending one week at No. 3 in the country, Syracuse slipped one spot to No. 4 in this week's Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll, despite a 2-0 week that included a win at seventh-ranked Duke.
• The Orange started the season ranked No. 5 in the preseason poll, before slipping to No. 6 on Sept. 10, and had been ranked fifth for three weeks in a row before moving up to third last week.
• SU finished 2012 ranked No. 5 after the Orange was No. 3 for three straight weeks in the poll after spending the previous three weeks at No. 1.
TOP 10 STREAK REACHES 60 WEEKS
• The Orange has now been ranked in the top 10 of the NFHCA poll for 60-straight weeks, dating back to Aug. 28, 2008.Â
• The Orange was ranked No. 1 for three weeks in 2012 after spending three weeks at No. 2, its highest ranking since reaching No. 1 for the first time in program history in 2008.
VS. NO. 1
• The last time Syracuse played at a No. 1 ranked team was when the No. 7 Orange defeated top-ranked Maryland, 2-1, on Sept. 13, 2008 in College Park, Md.
• SU's last game against the top-ranked team was on a neutral field, last season's 6-1 loss vs. North Carolina in the Final Four.
• The Orange is 1-1 vs. No. 1 in Ange Bradley's tenure.
VS. RANKED OPPONENTS
• Syracuse is 5-1 against ranked opponents this season, most recently beating No. 7 Duke, 2-1, in double overtime on the road last Friday. The other wins came against No. 7 Massachusetts, 2-1, on Sept. 13, No. 6 Princeton, 4-0, on Sept. 22, No. 6 Stanford, 3-1, on Sept. 28 and No. 4 Virginia, 4-1, on Oct. 5.

• Syracuse's lone win in the series was also the last time the teams met in the regular season. Martina Loncarica and Maggie Befort scored goals as the No. 7 Orange defeated the No. 1 Terps, 2-1, on Sept. 13, 2008 in College Park.
• The teams'first three meetings were 1982-84 in regular season tournaments and the series did not resume again until a 6-0 Maryland win on Nov. 1, 2001 in the NCAA Tournament first round.
COACHING CONNECTIONS
• Friday's match-up features several coaching connections between the Orange and Terrapins.
• Syracuse head coach Ange Bradley was an assistant coach at Maryland from 1997-2000. The Terps were 77-15 in her time there, won three ACC titles and the 1999 National Championship.
• SU first-year assisant coach Tara Zollinger is a 2013 Maryland graduate. She played for Terps teams that won two ACC titles (2009, 2010) and two National Championships (2010, 2011).
• Maryland volunteer assistant Steve Simpson, a 1998 Maryland alum, is in his first season back at College Park after two seasons as an assistant coach at Syracuse (2011-12). SU went 38-7 in his two seasons, including the 2012 Final Four run.
FARR HONORED BY ACC
• Freshman forward Karlee Farr was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week on Tuesday after leading the third-ranked Orange to a pair of victories, including a 2-1, double-overtime league win over seventh-ranked Duke last week.
• Farr scored Syracuse's lone goal in regulation in the road match at Duke last Friday. She followed up with the game-winning score in Sunday's come-from-behind, 3-1 win over New Hampshire.
• Farr, of Mount Joy, Pa., has scored five goals in her last three games to give her six on the season.
SECOND HALF SURGE DOWNS UNH
• A dominating three-goal second half led Syracuse to a 3-1 victory vs. New Hampshire (7-6) on Sunday afternoon at J.S. Coyne Stadium.
• Emma Russell scored two goals and Karlee Farr scored once for SU while Jess Jecko made eight saves in goal to earn the victory.
• Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Syracuse took control in the second stanza, scoring two goals less than a minute apart in the 47th and 48th minutes, and adding an insurance goal in the 66th minute. The Orange outshot the Wildcats, 11-3, in the second half to give the home club a 21-11 advantage overall.
BROOKS NETS 2OT WINNER AT DUKE
• Syracuse overcame a tough Duke defense to claim its second ACC victory in double overtime, 2-1 last Friday night in Durham, N.C. Lauren Brooks scored the game-winner while Jess Jecko recorded seven saves and Karlee Farr scored the regulation goal against the No. 7 Blue Devils.
• Brooks put an end to the battle in the 91st minute of play when she got a shot off eight yards out off a deflection by the goalie to give the Orange a 2-1 victory. The goal was the junior forward's ninth of the season and her second game-winner.
ORANGE-HOT AT HOME
• The Orange has been dominating at J.S. Coyne Stadium since seventh-year head coach Ange Bradley took the reins in 2007 as it currently rides a 42-game home winning streak dating back to 2009.
• SU has outscored the opposition, 177-33, or an average score of 4.2-0.8, during the winning streak.
• In home games under Bradley (since 2007), Syracuse is 58-6 (.906) overall. That breaks down to 41-4 (.911) in non-conference games and 17-2 (.895) in conference games.
• The Orange is off to a 6-0 start at home this season, outscoring its opponents, 22-4. Last season, SU went 8-0 at home and outscored its opponents, 34-7. In 2011, Syracuse went 13-0 at home and outscored the opposition, 65-9.Â
• SU's last home loss was on Sept. 6, 2009 vs. No. 7 Princeton, 3-2, in overtime.
BRING YOUR HAT
• Big individual offensive efforts have become routine for the Orange in 2013 as three different players have recorded hat tricks with three-goal games.
• Junior forward Lauren Brooks was the first to accomplish the feat, scoring three goals to lead Syracuse to a 6-2 victory vs. Kent State at Michigan State's Ralph Young Field on Sept. 8. It's her career-high in goals.
• Next up was senior midfielder Leonie Geyer, who scored three goals, all on penalty strokes, to lead the Orange to a 4-1 victory over No. 4 Virginia on Oct. 5 at Coyne Stadium for SU's first ever ACC win. It was her second career hat trick. She scored four goals against Vermont in 2011.
• Syracuse's third hat trick came the day after the second as freshman Karlee Farr quadrupled her season goal total with three in the Orange's 8-1 win vs. Monmouth on Oct. 6 at Coyne Stadium. She came into the game with one career goal in 10 games played.
• Prior to the three hat tricks this season, Syracuse's last were when Geyer scored four and Heather Susek had three goals in a 12-0 win vs. Vermont on Oct. 16, 2011.
CLIMBING THE ALL-TIME CHARTS
• Leonie Geyer continues to climb the Syracuse all-time  record book.
• Her 11-point performance on the weekend of Oct. 5-6 ran her career point total to 105, making her the fourth player in SU history to reach triple digits. She is seven behind third-place Lindsey Conrad's (2008-10) 112.
• Geyer has 10 assists on the season, running her career total to 39, placing her third in Syracuse history. Next up is Maggie Befort (2007-11) with 48.
• With 10 goals this season, Geyer now has 33 in her career, putting her one spot out of the top 10 all-time at SU. Jodi Carter (1992-95), Kelly Hambleton (1996-99) and Megan Koons (1996-99) all had 34, tied for ninth.
