ITHACA, N.Y.—The Orange finished its regular season races on Friday, heading to Cornell University for the John Reif Memorial race. While no team score was kept, four Syracuse runners placed in the top seven in the men's race and two of five women's runners placed in the top five.
Freshman Kevyn Hoyos finished in first place overall with a time of 24:49.40 in the five mile run. Andrew Bennison was right behind him in second place, finishing exactly four seconds later. Juris Silenieks took fourth place and Joe Kush finished in second.
In the women's race, sophomore Angelica Peck took second place by under four seconds, finishing with a time of 17:44.50 in the 5000 meter run. Beth Wright was the next-fastest Orange, finishing in fifth place with a time of 18:05.20. Rebecca Skodis finished in 15th place, Katie Weisenburger took 25th and Katie Kinkead rounded out the Syracuse harriers in 27th place.
SU heads to Winston Salem, N.C. on Friday for the ACC Championship Race, hosted by Wake Forest. Events start at 10 a.m.
