Alexander Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

For the second week in a row, senior guard Kayla Alexander has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll. Alexander averaged 16.0 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 4.0 bpg in a 2-0 week for the No. 23/21 Orange. She had 13 points and 10 rebounds in a win at Georgetown, recording her ninth double-double of the season. In a win against Pittsburgh, Alexander led SU with 19 points, seven blocks and eight rebounds.

This is the fourth time this season Alexander has been named to the honor roll and is the sixth total weekly award for the senior.

Alexander became SU's all-time leading scorer on Jan. 26 at Villanova passing Nicole Michael's (2007-10) 1,787 points with a layup at the 1:03 mark of the first half, finishing the game with 1,791. She currently has 1,873 career points. Alexander leads the Orange in scoring (17.6 ppg), rebounding (8.5 rpg) and blocks (3.4 bpg), ranking second, third and first, respectively, in the BIG EAST.

The Orange hosts Rutgers at the Carrier Dome tomorrow, Tuesday Feb. 19th, at 7 p.m.
