XC Men Maintain No. 1 Rank in Northeast, Women Climb to No. 4

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches association released the first poll of the regular season on Monday. For the past two weeks, the SU men's team has been ranked first and the women's team moved to fourth in the Northeast Region.

Last Saturday the Orange men won their second race of the season, taking first place at the Dartmouth Invitational by a 10-point margin. The women's team took second place to No. 6 Georgetown by just eight points.

In the first race of the season at Colgate the SU cross country team swept the competition with first place finishes for the men and women.

ACC foes Notre Dame, Virginia and Florida State all rank second in their respective regions on the men's poll and Duke and Florida State maintained their No. 1 ranking on the women's poll.

The cross country team heads to Massachusetts for the Boston Inter-Regional on Friday, Sept. 27 at 3:30 p.m.
