HAVERHILL, Mass.—Larissa Martyniuk scored a team-high three points last weekend, earning her a CHA Rookie of the Week nod, the conference announced Monday afternoon. This is the second time Martyniuk was honored as the conference's best rookie and it is the sixth time a Syracuse freshman has been awarded the designation this season.
Martyniuk scored the first goal of the game and assisted on the insurance goal in the 5-2 rout of Lindenwood on Friday and she assisted on the game-winner in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Lady Lions. Her 15 points is the second-most on the team among freshman and the third-most among all CHA rookies. Martyniuk also ranks fifth in defenseman scoring in the conference.
The Orange finishes its regular season schedule with a home-and-home weekend against RIT on Friday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in Rochester, N.Y. and Saturday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m. in Syracuse, N.Y.
