
Hehir Named XC Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Nine Make All-ACC Academic Team
All-American cross country runner and ACC Champion Martin Hehir has another accolade to add to his resume.
Hehir was named ACC Cross Country Scholar Athlete of the Year on Thursday.
Hehir led the Orange to a second-straight team ACC Championship, while taking the individual title in 23:15, an 8k record for the Panorama Farms Course.
He went on to place sixth at the NCAA Northeast Regional and 38th at the NCAA Championships. A biology and Spanish double major, Hehir has been a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and Dean's List in every semester at Syracuse.
Hehir was one of nine current members of the Orange honored on the ACC All-Academic team, joining Colin Bennie, Reed Kamyszek and Max Straneva on the men's side.
Haley Cutright, Sydney Leiher, Maura Linde, Margo Malone and Jessie Petersen were the women's honorees.
Members of the Orange made up nine of the 50 honorees.
