Orange Takes on Tar Heels for ACC Title

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 7/7 Syracuse goes for its first ACC Women's Lacrosse Tournament title on Sunday, April 26 when it takes on No. 2/2 North Carolina. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m. in Charlottesville, Va. The winner will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

What to Watch For – Syracuse (13-6)
1. Syracuse is making its second straight appearance in the ACC Tournament final. The Orange will take on its third straight top-five ranked opponent in four days. Syracuse defeated No. 4/3 Boston College in the quarterfinals and No.3/4 Duke in the semifinals.
2. Freshman Riley Donahue recorded three goals in Syracuse's win against Duke. She has 12 points in her last four games and has scored two or more goals in two of those contests
3. Senior Kailah Kempney has recorded 17 draw controls in the first two games of the ACC Tournament. She now has 412 draw controls in her career and is just the fifth player in Division I history to record 400 career draw controls.

What to Watch For – North Carolina (15-2)
1. North Carolina advanced to the ACC Tournament final with an 18-4 win against Notre Dame in the semifinals. The victory was the Tar Heel's seventh straight and improved their record to 15-2.
2. Aly Messinger scored a career-high six goals against the Fighting Irish and increased her team-leading point total to 68. She and Sammy Jo Tracy have tallied 31 goals apiece this season. Caylee Waters has started all 17 games in goal for the Tar Heels. She has a 7.84 goals-against average and a .494 save percentage.
3. Jenny Levy is in her 20th year at the helm of the North Carolina program. She has guided the Tar Heels to the NCAA semifinals seven times and led her team to the NCAA Championship in 2013.

THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series with North Carolina, 4-2. The Tar Heels won the first meeting between the two teams this season, 15-8, in Chapel Hill on April 11.
