Orange defeats Slovanka Prague, 125-69
SADSKE, Czech Republic – The Syracuse University women's basketball team put together a dominating effort in its third contest of its international trip, dismantling Slovanka Prague, 125-59, on Saturday night.
Â
"I think that is a much better basketball team than what we saw tonight," associate head coach Vonn Read commented. "I think we really came out and established ourselves with our press and knocking down shots. When we are doing that, we are tough to beat."
Â
Syracuse erupted for 125 points against Slovanka Prague, which would stand as a program single-game record if played during regular play. The Orange scored 57 points off 3-point field goals, connecting on 19 3-point field goal attempts. 19 3-point field goals made would be a Syracuse record, as well.
Â
Six players scored in double figures for the Orange in its third game on its foreign tour. Senior forward Taylor Ford led the way, scoring 24 points on the night. Junior guard Alexis Peterson also tallied 20 points.
Â
The story all night was Syracuse's ability to shoot the 3-point field goal. Redshirt senior guard Maggie Morrison scored 15 points on five 3-point field goals. Peterson and senior guard Brianna Butler each hit four from deep, as well.
