Syracuse Men Fall to 6 in Latest Poll

After a fourth place finish at the nation's most hotly contested regular season meet, the Syracuse men's cross country team sits at No. 6 in this week's poll, while the women's team is receiving votes in the coaches poll.
Justyn Knight captured the individual crown for the Orange men, but the team finished in fourth overall. Meet winner Northern Arizona now occupies the No. 1 spot unanimously, ahead of Stanford, which took second at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational. Oregon, which raced in Terre Haute this weekend at NCAA Pre-Nationals, ranks third, while BYU and Arkansas round out the top-five ahead of the Orange.
Syracuse leads a trio of ACC teams in the poll, with Virginia (16) and Virginia Tech (26) also checking in the rankings ahead of next week's ACC Championship.
On the women's side, Syracuse received 14 points in this poll, which would slate them as 35th overall. NC State (3), and Notre Dame (19) are the two ACC teams ranked in the women's poll this week.
The Orange will take part in Friday's John Reif Memorial before heading to Raleigh for the ACC Championships on Oct. 28.
