SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 20/21 Syracuse women's basketball team hosts No. 22 Michigan State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday night. Syracuse is looking for its second victory in the annual event. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
Wednesday's game will be Women in Business Day, as well. An hour-long networking session will be held in Club 44 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. In addition, the first 1,000 fans will receive a commemorative professional pen. For more information, click here.

Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at 1-888-DOMETIX, or by visiting the Carrier Dome box office (Gate B) during normal business hours.

Syracuse enters Wednesday's game with a 4-3 overall record. In their last outing, the Orange lost to No. 18/17 DePaul, 108-84, in the third-place contest of the Gulf Coast Showcase on Nov. 27. Senior guard Alexis Peterson notched at least 20 points for the third-straight game.

Michigan State comes into Wednesday's matchup with a 6-1 overall mark. The Spartans are ranked No. 22 in the country in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll. In its last game, Michigan State defeated Cal State Northridge, 63-59, on Nov. 26. Senior guard Tori Jankoska leads the team with 21.9 points per game.

Syracuse was ranked No. 13 in the country in the Preseason USA Today Coaches Poll, as announced on Oct. 27. It marked the highest Syracuse has been ranked in a preseason poll in program history.

Earlier this season, the Orange was ranked No. 11 nationally in the latest Associated Press Poll. It marks the highest the team has been ranked in-season in program history.

Prior to head coach Quentin Hillsman's arrival, the Orange had never been ranked in either the AP Poll or coaches' rankings. Since the start of his tenure in 2006-07, Syracuse has been ranked 54 times in the AP Poll and spent 55 weeks in the coaches' rankings.

Senior center Briana Day has been leaving her mark in the Syracuse women's basketball record book. Day and Orange all-time leading scorer Kayla Alexander are the only two players in program history with at least 150 blocked shots and 700 rebounds in their collegiate careers.

Day ranks fifth in program history with 202 career blocked shots. Alexander holds the SU career record, blocking 350 shots from 2010-13. In addition, Day ranks sixth in school history with 873 career rebounds. Nicole Michael, the Orange's all-time leader in boards, collected 996 rebounds from 2007-10.

As a junior, Day collected ACC All-Defensive Team honors, her first all-conference recognition of her collegiate career. The center ranked third in the league and 51st nationally in blocks, averaging 1.97 blocked shots per contest.

The Raleigh, N.C. native shattered the SU single-season rebounds record during her sophomore season. Day notched 322 boards on the year, 21 more than Martha Mogish posted in 1980-81.
