
Sykes Nominated for Allstate Good Works Team

Averaging 17.0 points and 8.1 rebounds this season
LILBURN, Ga. – Redshirt senior guard Brittney Sykes of the Syracuse women's basketball team was named a nominee for the 2017 Allstate WBCA Good Works Team, as announced on Wednesday morning.
Through seven games, Sykes is averaging 17.0 points and 8.1 rebounds per game for the Orange. The Newark, N.J. native has tallied two double-doubles and scored at least 11 points in every game this season.
Sykes completed her undergraduate degree in December 2015, earning a Bachelor's degree in communications and rhetorical studies in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in instructional design, development, and evaluation in the School of Education.
Off the court, the redshirt senior guard is a member of the Syracuse Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She has participated in the Shooting 4 A's program, which organizes activity days for fifth, sixth, and seventh graders through Syracuse Parks and Recreation. In addition, Sykes was the lone student-athlete on the search committee for Syracuse athletic director John Wildhack.
Sykes and the Orange return to the Carrier Dome on Wednesday night when they host No. 22 Michigan State. Wednesday's game will be Women in Business Day, as well. An hour-long networking session will be held in Club 44 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. In addition, the first 1,000 fans will receive a commemorative professional pen. For more information, click here.
