Leary Finishes First Season in Spain

Ranked fourth in the league in rebounds per game
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Former Syracuse University women's basketball player Shakeya Leary recently completed her first season with C.R.E.F. Hola Madrid in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto. In her first year with the Spanish club, Leary helped the team to a seventh-place finish in the league.
Leary played in all 26 contests for C.R.E.F. Hola Madrid during the 2015-16 campaign. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native averaged 6.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per contest. Leary ranked fourth in the league in rebounds per game, as well.
In 2014-15, Leary played for BLK Slavia Praha in the Czech Women's Basketball League. The center averaged 14.4 points and 10.0 boards per game, helping her team to a seventh-place showing. BLK Slavia Praha lost in the quarterfinals to eventual runner-up Sokol Hradec Kralove.
