After a stellar Syracuse debut, Iliass Aouani was named ACC Performer of the week, while freshman Madeleine Davison picked up her second ACC Freshman of the Week honor after their performances at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational.
Aouani stretched out the field to claim the overall victory and leading the No. 1 Orange to a sound team victory with 19 points. The Milan, Italy native crossed the line in 26:17, over seven seconds ahead of teammate and 2015 All-American Philo Germano. Joel Hubbard, another member of the NCAA Championship team from last season took third, while seven SU runners placed in the top-seven.
Davison followed up a win in her collegiate debut from the week prior with a third place finish this weekend, while leading her squad to a third place finish as a team. Davison finished the 6k race in 21:11.
Both the Syracuse men and women won't race this weekend, but return to action on Sept. 23 at the Panorama Farms Invitational, hosted by Virginia.
