Orange Host Montreal For Exhibition

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's ice hockey team starts the 2016-17 season with an exhibition game against the University of Montreal on Saturday at Tennity Ice Pavilion at 7 p.m.
Syracuse preps for the upcoming slate after finishing last season with a 19-14-3 overall record and a program-high 14 conference wins. The Orange advanced to the finals of the College Hockey America tournament last season for the fifth time in program history.
The Orange were picked as the CHA preseason favorites for the second consecutive season in the coaches poll.
The Orange and Montreal have never met in the regular season.
Molly McIntyre will be making the ceremonial puck drop on Saturday. Through Team IMPACT, Molly was drafted by the Syracuse hockey team last season and continues to be part of the program as an honorary member. Molly was diagnosed with mitochondrial dysfunction, a disease that results from failures of the mitochondria.
Team IMPACT is a non-profit organization chartered to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team. Team IMPACT children are drafted onto college athletic teams and are a part of the team from Draft Day through graduation.
Syracuse will begin the regular season on Sept. 30 when they host Bemidji State at Tennity Ice Pavilion at 7 p.m.
