Men Rank Second. Women 17th in Latest Poll

The Syracuse men's cross country team checks in at No. 2 in this week's USTFCCCA Poll, with Northern Arizona taking over the top-spot.
The Orange placed second at the Panorama Farms Invitational, including placing all-five of its scorers in the top-18, three in the top-seven and Justyn Knight winning the individual title. BYU upset the Orange for the team crown, marking the first time since the 2014 NCAA Championship meet that the Syracuse championship roster didn't win the meet.

Syracuse is one-of-five teams now receiving first place votes in the coaches poll, a new record for the USTFCCCA. Northern Arizona (351 points, 7 first place votes) is the new No. 1, followed by the Orange (331 points, one first place vote), Oregon (326 points, two first place votes), BYU (320 points, one first place vote), Colorado (299 points, one first place vote) and Arkansas (299 points) rounding out the top-five.
In addition to Syracuse, Virginia (No. 13) and NC State (No. 23) are also ranked on the men's side this week, with Virginia Tech and Louisville also receiving votes.

ACC rivals NC State (No. 5), Notre Dame (No. 16), Virginia (No. 20) also checked in the polls this week.
Neither Syracuse squad will race again until Oct. 14 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour, an event the men are two-time defending champions at.
