Syracuse ranks No. 24/21 in the nation
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's basketball team moved up in both major national polls following its fourth victory against a nationally ranked opponent this season. Syracuse ranks No. 21 in the country in the latest release of the USA Today Coaches Poll and checks in at No. 24 nationally in most recent Associated Press Poll.
It marks the team's 21st consecutive appearance in the top 25 of the coaches' rankings, extending its longest streak in program history. In addition, it marked the first time the Orange have cracked the top 25 of the AP Poll since Dec. 26, 2016.
Syracuse topped No. 19/21 Virginia Tech on Jan. 29 for its fourth win against a nationally ranked foe, setting a program regular-season record. It marked head coach Quentin Hillsman's sixth victory against a nationally ranked opponent on the road in his tenure.
In their next contest, the Orange are looking to extend their 16-game home win streak against Pittsburgh. The club currently owns the eighth-longest home win streak in the nation. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. from the Carrier Dome. The game will be shown on ACC Network Extra, as well.
