A trio of Syracuse cross country runners – two past and one future – helped the United States defeat Europe in the Great Edinburgh XCountry Challenge on Saturday.
The day was highlighted by Noah Affolder, who signed his national letter of intent to join the Orange next season, winning the individual title in the junior race, crossing the line in 19:29, which led Team USA to four of the top-10 places in the race.
In addition to Affolder's performance, a pair of Orange alums contributed in the senior races, with both Martin Hehir and Sarah Pagano representing the U.S. in the races.
The U.S. finished with 149 points, Europe was right behind with 152 and Team Great Britain finished with 208 points in third.
