After winning his season debut at the highly competitive Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational presented by Under Armour, Syracuse cross country star Justyn Knight picked up USTFCCCA National Performer of the Week honors.
It's the fourth time in his career he's been named national athlete of the week, most recently doing so on the track when he turned in the fourth fastest collegiate 5k ever last spring. He also earned the honor after the Wisconsin Invite last year and the 2016 Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown as well.
This time, Knight out-kicked Stanford's Grant Fisher to cross the finish line after 8k with a time of 23:28.5
Next, Knight will look to defend his individual and team ACC Championship in Louisville on Oct. 27.
