Redshirt sophomore Lindsay Eastwood spoke with the 2017-18 incoming freshman class to get all the insight on their likes/dislikes and the upcoming season. Here is her Freshman Feature:
Â
Jessica DiGirolamo, Digi or Jess to her friends, hails from Mississauga, Ontario where she played for the Oakville Jr. Hornets.
Â
As a kid, Jess loved watching hockey, but it is thanks to her brother that she took up the sport. She always wanted to follow in her brother's footsteps so that is where playing hockey came in.
Â
Digi's favorite hockey players include Erik Karlsson and Monique Lamoureux, but the blueliner would choose to eat dinner with Channing Tatum over anyone else.
Â
To prepare for games she likes to eat chicken with spaghetti and veggies. Rap and hip-hop are her go to tunes to get her in the zone for game time.
Â
Digi says that Syracuse stood out from the rest when it came to picking where she wanted to attend. She loved the beautiful campus, the top-of-the-line academic and athletic facilities but the coaches were the biggest influence when she was making her decision.
Â
The freshman was once told that, "you have the ability to achieve anything you set your mind to, keeping in mind that hard work and dedication are both very key aspects in reaching success".
Â
Jess is excited to bleed orange and we are excited to welcome you to the Syracuse family!
