The men's ACC Cross Country Champions on the course were honored for their work off it, with three men and one woman named to the ACC All-Academic Team from head coach Chris Fox's program.
The men's team, which raced its way to a second-straight podium finish at the NCAA Championships following taking home a fifth-straight conference title this season, was represented by Iliass Aouani, Colin Bennie and Adam Visokay. Paige Stoner, the Orange's top finisher at the ACC Championships, was the women's representative.
A math major, Aouani took sixth at the ACC Championship and seventh at the NCAA Northeast Regional, to collect All-ACC and USTFCCCA All-Region honors during his first season with the Orange.
A graduate student majoring in public communication at the Maxwell School, Bennie earned USTFCCCA All-America honors for the second year in a row this season after a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Championships. He finished fifth at the ACC Championship meet and was the runner-up at the NCAA Northeast Regional to collect All-ACC and all-region honors for the Orange as well.
Visokay, another transfer in his first season at 'Cuse, is an economics major in the Maxwell School. He placed 19th at the ACC Championships and 15th at the NCAA Northeast Regional this season, collecting All-ACC and USTFCCCA All-Northeast Region honors.
Stoner was the top finisher for Syracuse in each of the Orange's final-four races, taking 17th at the ACC Championships to earn All-ACC honors before also leading the way with a 10th place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The Orange women's team also were honored by the USTFCCCA this season, earning team recognition for having a cumulative GPA over 3.0.
