CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- No. 12/11 Syracuse puts its three-game winning streak on the line when it takes on defending national champion and second-ranked North Carolina on Saturday, April 15. Opening draw in Chapel Hill is set for 12 p.m.

ACC STANDINGS
Syracuse enters Saturday's game with an 11-4 overall record and a 4-1 mark in conference play, which puts the Orange in second place in the league standings. The Tar Heels are 12-1 overall and lead the league with a 5-0 mark against conference foes.

EYE ON THE DRAW CIRCLE
Saturday's game features the ACC leaders in draw controls. Syracuse freshman Morgan Widner leads the league and ranks third in the nation in draw controls per game, while North Carolina's Sammy Jo Tracy is second in the league and fourth in the nation.

NEWCOMERS CONTRIBUTE
Syracuse's newcomers have had quite an impact on the Orange this season. First-year players have scored 62 goals through 15 games, accounting for 31.8 percent of the Orange's offense.

SERIES HISTORY
Syracuse and North Carolina will meet for the 10th time on Saturday. The Orange own a slight advantage in the series, winning five of the previous nine meetings. Last season, the teams met twice, the second coming in the championship game of the ACC Tournament. The Tar Heels took a 14-13 lead with 36 seconds remaining, but Kelly Cross scored as time ran out to even the score and force overtime. An Syracuse turnover gave North Carolina possession and Aly Messinger scored to give the Tar Heels the 15-14 victory.
