Orange Climb in Polls, Host #12 Cornell Tuesday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. --Â Syracuse will play its final regular-season home game on Tuesday, April 18 when it hosts No. 12/11 Cornell. Game time in the Carrier Dome is set for 7 p.m. Admission and parking are free of charge. The first 250 fans to enter the Dome on Tuesday will receive a free item from STX.

Fans can watch the game on Spectrum Sports and ACC Network Extra. ESPN 1200 AM and WJPZ 89.1 FM will also broadcast the game.

ORANGE MOVING UP IN THE RANKINGS
After upsetting No. 2 North Carolina on Saturday in Chapel Hill, Syracuse moved up five spots to No. 7 in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll and three spots to No. 8 in the Cascade media poll. The win, the team's fourth in a row, against the Tar Heels improved the Orange's record to 12-4 overall and moved them into a tie for first place in the ACC standings with a 5-1 league record.

HAWRYSCHUK CONTINUES TO IMPRESS
Freshman Emily Hawryschuk took over the team lead in goals after scoring four against North Carolina. She now has 12 goals in her last three games, giving her a team-high 31 for the season. Hawryschuk has recorded three or more goals in a game seven times this season. She is tied for second on the squad in scoring with 36 points.

SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell rebounded from its midweek loss to Albany with a 14-12 victory against Dartmouth on Saturday in Hanover, N.H., improving its record to 10-2. The loss to the Great Danes last Tuesday snapped the Big Red's eight-game winning streak.

Amie Dickson and Catherine Ellis lead the Cornell offense. Dickson is the Big Red's leading scorer with 48 points on 23 goals and a team-high 25 assists. Ellis has recorded a team-high 28 goals and has 40 points this season. Renee Poullott has started all 12 games in goal for Cornell. She has a 7.89 goals-against average and a .503 save percentage.

THE SERIES
Tuesday's game will be the 21st meeting between the two squads. Syracuse owns a 15-5 advantage in the series, including a 9-0 mark in the Carrier Dome. Last season, the Orange defeated the Big Red, 9-7, in Ithaca.
