
Women's Hoops to Host Hartford on School Day

Tipoff set for 11 a.m. in the Carrier Dome
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Make plans for a field trip to a Syracuse women's basketball game when the team hosts Hartford for its annual School Day on Monday, November 20 in the Carrier Dome! Tipoff is set for 11 a.m.
The School Day event is for students from second to eighth grade. Included in the School Day package are tickets to the game for each student and an educational pregame presentation.
For those interested, please contact teamsu@syr.edu. The deadline for schools to sign up for the event is on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
Last season, the Orange hosted Coppin State on their inaugural School Day on Dec. 7, 2016. Syracuse defeated its opposition, 76-30, behind three 3-point field goals made from guard Abby Grant. 3,932 people attended the contest, the team's second-highest attended home game of the year.
The 2016-17 Orange advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season, one of 15 programs nationally to do so. 2017 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman Team honoree Gabby Cooper leads a returning core that will join with one of the nation's top recruiting classes to form the 2017-18 squad.
In its first season under head coach Kim McNeill, Hartford finished the 2016-17 campaign with a 17-14 overall record. Guard Sierra DaCosta was named the 2017 America East Rookie of the Year, the first Hawk to earn such honors in 11 years.
