Sykes ranks third among rookies in scoring
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Center Kayla Alexander '13 and guards Alexis Peterson and Brittney Sykes, the top three scorers in the history of the Syracuse women's basketball program, are all in action as the 2017 WNBA season is underway.
Here is the latest update of how the three former Orange are faring:
Kayla Alexander, San Antonio Stars
- Currently averaging 7.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 0.5 blocks per game in nine contests played
- Recorded 12 points, five rebounds, one assist, and two steals against Chicago on June 10
Alexis Peterson, Seattle Storm
- Tallying 1.8 points, 0.2 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per contest in five games played
Brittney Sykes, Atlanta Dream
- Averaging 5.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game in nine contests played
- Ranks third among rookies in scoring
- Secured nine points, two rebounds, two assists, and one block in a win at Seattle on June 13
- Posted 11 points, four boards, and one steal at Connecticut on June 10
- In a career-high 29 minutes played, recorded 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and blocked shot at New York on June 7
