Finklea-Guity Recognized by The Boston Globe

Averaged 16.8 points and 14.5 rebounds per game
BOSTON – Incoming Syracuse women's basketball freshman center Amaya Finklea-Guity was recognized as one of the Boston area's best 2016-17 student athletes by The Boston Globe at the annual Phelps Scholar-Athlete ceremony on Sunday.
The graduating high school seniors, who were selected by judges from The Boston Globe, represented six Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) districts and the city of Boston.
As a senior at Noble & Greenough, Finklea-Guity averaged 16.8 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 5.5 blocked shots per games. She led her high school team to the Independent School League title and New England Preparatory Schools Athletic Council (NEPSAC) semifinals.
A 6-4 center from Dorchester, Mass., Finklea-Guity is a five-star recruit, as ranked by espnW Hoopgurlz. She has been recognized as the 40th-ranked player and fifth-best center in her class by the recruiting service, as well.
Syracuse has hauled in the No. 2 class nationally according to Blue Star Report and the eighth-ranked class in the country as ranked by Dan Olson of espnW HoopGurlz.
