
Central New York Showdown Set for December 6

Syracuse hosts Colgate in the Carrier Dome
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's basketball team will play host to Central New York-foe Colgate on Wednesday, December 6 in the Carrier Dome. It marks the first meeting between the two programs since the 2011-12 campaign.
Syracuse has won all 13 previous meetings between the two clubs. In the most recent matchup, Iasia Hemingway poured in 31 points for the Orange en route to an 83-32 victory on Dec. 31, 2011. Hemingway also posted 13 rebounds against Colgate.
The 2016-17 Orange advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season, one of 15 programs nationally to do so. 2017 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman Team honoree Gabby Cooper leads a returning core that will join with one of the nation's top recruiting classes to form the 2017-18 squad.
Colgate finished the 2016-17 season with a 10-20 overall record. Rising sophomore guard Rachel Thompson was named to the 2017 Patriot League All-Rookie Team after 10.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest.
