
Slim Helps Netherlands to First-Place Finish

Netherlands defeats Hungary in final on Sunday
PODEBRADY, Czech Republic – Former Syracuse women's basketball forward Isabella Slim helped the Netherlands national team to a first-place showing at the first stop of the 2017 FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League on Sunday.
In pool play, the Netherlands split its two contests against Hungary and Slovakia. The Netherlands would then defeat the Czech Republic, 13-7, in the semifinals. In the final, the Netherlands beat Hungary, 15-13, avenging its lone loss of the event.
The FIBA 3x3 U23 Nations League is a new FIBA 3x3 national team competition for men and women under the age of 23 years old. The league is an ongoing opportunity for the future talents to hone their skills in preparation for the FIBA 3x3 World Cup, multi-sport games, and future Olympic Games.
This season, the league will be comprised of five one-day events, featuring six teams in the men's and six teams in the women's categories.
Slim started in all 136 games of her collegiate career, which ranks second in program history. As a senior, the Amsterdam native averaged 4.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest for the Orange. She ranked third on the team in rebounding.
