Syracuse Set to Host Maryland Eastern Shore

Fifth meeting between the two programs
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's basketball team will play host to Maryland Eastern Shore on Thursday, November 16 in the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome. It marks the second time in five seasons that the two programs will meet.
The Orange owns a 4-0 advantage in the all-time series against the Hawks. In the latest meeting between the two clubs, Syracuse recorded a 113-42 victory on Nov. 20, 2013. The Orange set its single-game record for most points scored and largest margin of victory in the win.
The 2016-17 Orange advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season, one of 15 programs nationally to do so. Guard Gabby Cooper, a 2017 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman Team honoree, leads a returning core that will join with one of the nation's top recruiting classes to form the 2017-18 squad.
Maryland Eastern Shore finished the 2016-17 season with a 13-16 overall record. Rising junior guard Ciani Byrom is the team's leading returning scorer, after averaging 14.6 point per game in an injury-shortened campaign.
