Peterson and Seattle open postseason play against Phoenix
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Center Kayla Alexander '13 and guard Brittney Sykes, two of the top scorers in the history of the Syracuse women's basketball program, wrapped up their 2017 WNBA season this past week. Guard Alexis Peterson and the Seattle Storm square off with the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday in the first round of the WNBA playoffs.

Here is the latest update of how the three former Orange fared this season:

Kayla Alexander, San Antonio Stars
- Finished the season averaging 6.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 34 contests played
- Ranked second on San Antonio for field goal percentage (58.2 percent) and blocked shots (0.5/game)
- Recorded 11 points and four rebounds in the final game of the season at Indiana on Sept. 2
- Saw 33 minutes of action, tying her season-high while setting a new season-high for rebounds (nine) and tabbing 15 points and two steals  against New York on Sept. 1
Alexis Peterson, Seattle Storm
- Tallying 2.1 points, 1.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.2 steals per contest in 17 games
- Tied her career-high with four rebounds in addition to two points and an assist at Chicago on Sept. 3
Brittney Sykes, Atlanta Dream
- Averaged 13.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.5 blocked shots per game in 34 contests played during her rookie campaign
- Paced league rookies in points per game (13.9) and rebounds per game (4.1) while ranking second in minutes averaged (25.4)
- Named the WNBA Rookie of the Month for the second consecutive month after scoring at least 10 points in 10 of her 11 games played in the month of August
- Tabbed to the 2017 Associated Press WNBA All-Rookie Team, tallying six outings with at least 20 points
- Set a new career-high in points with 33 in addition to tabbing five rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal at Phoenix on Sept. 3
- Posted 10 points, five rebounds and an assist at Los Angeles on Sept. 1
