This weekend, the Syracuse cross country teams head to Madison, Wisconsin for the NCAA Championships.

About the Meet
- Action will start at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, November 17 with the women's 6k, with Shannon Malone set to represent the Orange.
- The men are running a 10k, their second race of the season at this distance, at 11:45 a.m.
- The race is hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Thomas Zimmer Championship Course.
- The Syracuse men's team has won two national championships (2015 and 1951).
- The Orange have finished in the top 5 at the championships 11 times; 3rd place in 2016, 1st in 2015, 5th in 2014, 4th in 1957, 2nd in 1954, 3rd in 1953, 4th in 1952, 1st in 1941, 2nd in 1949, 3rd in 1948, and 2nd in 1947.
- Their best finish came in 2010 at 10th place.
- Malone is looking to be the second-straight Orange All-American, after Paige Stoner finished 17th last season. Stoner was the top finisher in women's program history at the national meet.
- Last season, Justyn Knight delivered Syracuse's first ever individual NCAA Championship in program history. He finished with a time of 29:00.1.
- The men's team finished 13th with a total of 406 points. The women's team finished 26th with 582 points.
- Paige Stoner crossed the finish line in 17th place with a 19:52.0 time, good for the SU women's cross country's highest individual finish ever at the NCAA championships.
- Other than Knight, four other men's runners placed; Colin Bennie (56th/30:15.3), Aidan Tooker (109th/30:49.4), Philo Germano (142nd/31:04.0), and Joe Dragon (174th/31:22.3). Dominic Hockenburry (31:36.3) and Iliass Aouani (32:31.3) also ran for the Orange.
- For the women,
- Rachel Bonner (21:32.8/196th), Eva Scott (22:27.3/242nd), Chelsie Pennello (243rd/22:28.1) and Maggie Toczko (249th/22:55.2) rounded out the Orange women competitors.
- The cross country team competed at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course in Madison earlier this season at the NCAA Pre-Nationals on October 13th.
- The men finished in 3rd place while the women finished in 8th.
- For the men, Aidan Tooker led the way with a second place finish at a 23:54.84 time, just ).3 seconds behind winner BYU's Rory Linkletter.
- Noah Affolder (35th/24:26.0), Iliass Aouani (43rd/24:31.8), Simon Smith (56th/24:43.6), and Joe Dragon (59th/24:45.6) all scored for the Orange. Kevin James (25:00.5) and Dominic Hockenburry (25:16.6) also ran for the men.
- Â Laura Dickinson led the way for the women in her collegiate cross country debut (29th/20:52.2). Rachel Bonner (33rd/20:55.7), Madeline Davidson (46th/21:11.7), Mary Malone (48th/21:11.9), and Abigail Spiers 113rd/21:40.4) were the other runners for the women.
- The Orange run at the NCAA Northeast Regionals on November 9th, successfully qualifying for the NCAA Championships.
- The men took first place with 79 points. Aidan Tooker led the way finishing in 6th place at 32:56.4.
- The women finished 6th overall with 155 points. Shannon Malone won the individual race at 21:27.7, qualifying her for the NCAA championships.
