Eight Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Eight Syracuse cross country runners earned USTFCCCA's All-Academic Team honors this season following an impressive performances both on and off the course.
To achieve the honor the student athlete must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and have finished in the top-25 (or top-10 percent) at regionals or as an All-American at nationals. Five men, who helped the Orange to a fifth-straight ACC Championship and another NCAA Northeast Regional title are represented, while three women headline the list as well.
Junior Iliass Aouani was one of the student-athletes to earn the accolade. He finished 22nd at the ACC Championship, one place out of All-ACC Team honors, but earned his way onto the USTFCCCA All-Northeast Region squad two weeks later with a 24th-place finish at regionals. He is majoring in engineering and computer science.
Two-time cross country All-American Colin Bennie also earned the honor. A public affairs graduate student in the Maxwell School, Bennie was the runner-up to teammate Justyn Knight at the NCAA Northeast Regional and took third at the ACC Championship.
Philo Germano, who's enrolled in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, took eighth at both the ACC Championship and NCAA Northeast Regional, to earn All-ACC and All-Northeast Region honors once again.
Dominic Hockenbury is another 'Cuse runner to earn both USTFCCCA All-Region and All-ACC honors this season, taking 11th at the NCAA Northeast Regional and 20th at the ACC Championship. He is enrolled in the college of arts and sciences.
Aidan Tooker rounds out the men's team selections. Another recipient of both All-Region and All-ACC honors, Tooker finished sixth at both championships. He is majoring in communication and rhetorical studies.
Madeleine Davison finished 18th at the NCAA Northeast Regional to earn her way onto the team. She was honored with USTFCCCA All-Northeast Region honors for the first time in her career. She's enrolled in the college of arts and sciences.
Another member of the All-ACC and All-Northeast Region teams, Shannon Malone was tabbed to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. A seventh place finisher at the ACC Championship, Malone made her way onto the podium at the NCAA Northeast Regional, finishing third.
Paige Stoner followed up the most successful cross country season by a Syracuse woman ever with USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. The first Syracuse woman to accomplish a number of feats, including earning ACC Performer of the Year, winning an ACC Individual Championship and finishing in the top-20 at the NCAA Championship, Stoner handled her business in the classroom as well. She's enrolled in the school of education.
Both Syracuse teams also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors as a team as well.
