Women's Basketball Announces Home Opener

Syracuse, N.Y. – Syracuse will open the 2018-19 season against North Dakota on Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the Carrier Dome. It will mark the first meeting in program history between the Orange and Fighting Hawks. Tip-off is tentatively set for 3 p.m.
'Cuse returns its starting five that started in all 31 games for the Orange last season and adds a top-10 recruiting class in McDonald's All-American Emily Engstler and international sensations Kadiatou Sissoko and Veronika Vorackova. All-ACC First Team point guard Tiana Mangakahia is back for her junior campaign after leading the NCAA in assists (304) and assists per game (9.8) as a sophomore.
The Orange posted a 22-9 record, 10-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and earned a NCAA Tournament bid for the sixth-straight year.
Led by seventh-year head coach Travis Brewster, the Fighting Hawks begin their season with seven-straight road games; the first of which will be at the Dome. Last season, North Dakota went 12-18 overall and 5-13 in the Big Sky Conference. UND returns leading scorer and rebounder Lexi Klabo who tallied 19.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as a junior.
The Fighting Hawks ended the 2017-18 regular season losing four out of their last five games and were bounced from the Big Sky Conference Tournament by Montana State to end their season.
