SYRACUSE, N.Y – Syracuse ice hockey assistant coach Alison Domenico and senior defenseman Allie Munroe will head to Calgary, Alberta from Aug. 3-11 for Hockey Canada's National Women's Development Team Selection Camp. Domenico was tabbed as a camp coach while Munroe was selected to participate in the nine-day session.
Domenico, a native of Ottawa, Ont., joined the Orange ice hockey staff as an assistant coach in 2011. Domenico will help Canada's National Women's Development Team select its final roster before its three-game series against the United States later this August.
Munroe is among the 41 camp invitees, which includes four goaltenders, 15 defensemen and 22 forwards, vying for a spot on the Development Team's final roster. Players will participate in practices and intrasquad games, as well as off-ice training, fitness testing and classroom sessions during the nine-day tryout.
A Yarmouth, N.S., native, Munroe was named to the All-College Hockey America Second Team as a junior and earned the CHA Best Defenseman Award along with All-Conference First Team honors as a sophomore. She previously attended the Canadian National Women's Development Team Selection Camp during the summer of 2016.
