
Aouani and Eovaldi Claim ACC Accolades

Iliass Aouani and Joey Eovaldi were both honored by the ACC for their outstanding performances at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, where they led the No. 11 Syracuse men's cross country team to a third-straight win at the event.
Aouani was the top Orange finisher, taking second overall, and was named ACC Men's Performer of the Week. Eovaldi was the top freshman for the Orange, earning him ACC Men's Freshman of the Week for the second week in a row.
Aouani crossed the line in 25:41, which was good for a second place finish over the 5.2 mile course. He led an Orange pack to take six of the top-nine spots.
Eovaldi finished 39th, making him the eighth runner for the Orange, crossing the line in 27:21. He earned the award for the second week in a row after placing third at the Harry Lang Invitational.
Syracuse returns to action next weekend at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown. Â
