No. 10 Syracuse travels to Charlottesville, Va., this Friday to play No. 8 Virginia in the first Atlantic Coast Conference game of the season. 'Cuse (3-0) is 3-5 all-time against the Cavaliers (2-1) and is 3-4 during head coach Ange Bradley's tenure.

The Orange enter Friday's game on a three-game win streak following Saturday night's 2-1 overtime win at No. 15 Stanford. Chiara Gutsche tallied both goals for Syracuse in the victory and leads the team with three goals this season. Sophomore goalkeeper Borg van der Velde holds a .846 save percentage and has allowed two goals in 220 minutes of action this season.
No. 8 Virginia is off to a 2-1 start this season. The Cavaliers opened with a dominating 8-1 win over Drexel and then lost 1-0 on the road at No. 6 Penn State on Aug. 26. Last weekend, UVA hosted Longwood and earned its first shutout of the season with a 2-0 victory over the Lancers.
In their first meeting, Virginia defeated Syracuse 2-1 in overtime on Sept. 18, 1993. Last time they met, Virginia earned a 2-1 win at J.S. Coyne Stadium on Oct. 14, 2017.
