
Orange Move Up to No. 12 in AP Top 25

Syracuse, N.Y. – A 2-0 week on the road to begin Atlantic Coast Conference play and its sixth and seventh- straight wins helped the Syracuse University women's basketball team move up two spots to No. 12 in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 Poll. It is the second-consecutive week the Orange moved up in the poll.
Syracuse earned an 84-75 win over Clemson to start ACC action on the road on Thursday night. Miranda Drummond scored a team-high 23 points while Gabrielle Cooper added 22 points and made seven three-pointers in the win.
On Sunday, the Orange earned their third top-25 win of the season over No. 25 Virginia Tech (12-3, 0-2 ACC) in overtime. Tiana Mangakahia had a game-high 27 points en route to the 75-73 win.
The Orange return to the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome on Sunday, Jan. 13 for the ACC home opener against North Carolina. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. Tickets are available online.
