Fifth Annual Hoops N Scoops Set for Sunday, Oct. 13
10/7/2019 6:52:00 PM | Women's Basketball
I scream, you scream, we all scream for an ice cream social with Syracuse Women's Basketball. The Orange host their annual preseason event, Hoops N Scoops, on Sunday, Oct. 13, in the Dome. Â It will be the public's first glance at the 2019-20 Orange squad beginning with an open practice at 1 p.m. followed by an ice cream social with fans in attendance.
Â
This event is FREE and open to the public. Fans that wish to attend can RSVP online.
Â
Head Coach Quentin Hillsman, who is entering his 14th season at the helm, will address the crowd after practice and fans will have the opportunity to meet the team, enjoy an ice cream sundae bar and take home an exclusive Hoops N Scoops giveaway.
Â
Syracuse returns seven players, three starters, and adds six new faces to the squad. Gabrielle Cooper, Digna Strautmane and Amaya Finklea-Guity have started 65 consecutive games together. A trio of graduate transfers bring experience to the team while three freshman guards add depth to the backcourt. The Orange will be without Associated Press (AP) All-America Honorable Mention selection and two-time Nancy Lieberman Award finalist Tiana Mangakahia this season, as she continues to undergo breast cancer treatment.
Â
The Orange begin their season at home on Tuesday, Nov. 5, against Ohio at 8 p.m. in the Dome.
Â
Syracuse season tickets start at $75 and are available for sale by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) or at The Box Office at the Ensley Athletic Center, which will operate extended hours on Mondays, from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, and will be open Tuesday through Friday, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, for purchasing tickets to all Dome events. Limited Premium Courtside seats are still available and can be purchased by contacting a sales representative at 1-888-DOME-TIX.
