SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- No. 15/11 Syracuse women's lacrosse team is back in action in the Carrier Dome on Tuesday, Feb. 12 when it hosts Binghamton. Opening draw is set for 6 p.m. Admission and parking are free of charge.

MOVING ON UP
Syracuse moved up two spots to No. 11 in the Inside Lacrosse media poll released on Monday. The Orange garnered 226 points. Boston College, Syracuse's opponent on Saturday, is No. 1. The Eagles received 20-of-22 first-place votes.

ORANGE UPDATE
The Orange opened the season with an 18-6 victory against Connecticut last Friday in the season opener. Junior Emily Hawryschuk led Syracuse with four goals and five points, all of which came during Syracuse's 8-0 scoring run in the first eight minutes of the game.

Syracuse's highly-touted freshman class didn't disappoint as three were members of the starting lineup. Meaghan Tyrrell posted five points (2g, 3a), while Megan Carney finished with a goal and an assist. Sarah Cooper helped anchor the Orange defense with five caused turnovers and four ground balls.

DOME SWEET DOME
The Carrier Dome will be a familiar site for Syracuse as it opens the season by playing four games in 11 days on its home field. Overall, the Orange play their first seven contests of the 2019 campaign in the Carrier Dome.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Tuesday's game is the first of 2019 for Binghamton. The Bearcats posted an 8-9 record last season and advanced to the conference tournament for the first time in the program's 17-year history. Binghamton had six players named to the All-America East team.

Sophomore attacker Paige Volkmann was named to the 2018 All-Rookie Team after posting 26 points, 20 goals and 16 ground balls in her freshman campaign. Defensively, Alexa Franze had 34 ground balls and was second on the team in caused turnovers with 24. She was named all-conference second team. Goalkeeper Taylor Passuello also earned second-team all-conference honors a year ago.

Stephanie Allen begins her seventh season at the helm of the Binghamton program.

SERIES HISTORY
Tuesday's game will be the seventh all-time meeting between Syracuse and Binghamton. The Orange have won the previous six contests between the two schools, which have all been played in Syracuse.

The Bearcats last visited the Carrier Dome in 2017. Emily Hawryschuk scored 45 seconds into the game to give the Orange the lead for good. Hawryschuk's goal was the first of six straight for Syracuse as it led 8-2 at halftime. The Orange opened the second half with six consecutive goals and posted a 16-5 victory.
