SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 4/4 Syracuse continues its stretch where it will play five straight top 15 opponents against No. 7/6 Virginia. The Orange are 2-0 in that stretch and are looking to continue their winning ways against the Cavaliers on Saturday, Mar. 2 at 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse extended its winning streak with a 15-11 victory against No. 13/12 Loyola on Wednesday. The win improved the Orange's record to 5-1 overall.

Syracuse had an explosive first half, scoring 12 of its 15 goals while holding Loyola to only four goals. The Greyhounds made a run in the second half but Syracuse was able to hold onto the lead for the entire game. Freshman Megan Carney led the offense with a career-high five points (3g, 2a). Junior Emily Hawryschuk scored four goals of her own, while sophomore Sam Swart had a career-high two assists and four points.

SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS
Virginia remained undefeated after beating William & Mary, 16-8, on Tuesday, improving its record to 5-0. No team has been able to score more than 12 goals on the Cavaliers this season and four of their opponents failed to reach double digits in scoring.

Senior Maggie Jackson leads Virginia's offense with 22 points off nine goals and 13 assists. Jackson ranks third in the ACC in assists per game (2.6). Three Cavaliers have scored 10 or more goals this season, led by junior Sammy Mueller's 13. In goal for Virginia is junior Charlie Campbell. She has a .538 save percentage, which leads the ACC, and a 7.72 goals against average which ranks second in the conference.

Head coach Julie Myers is in her 24th season at the helm of the Virginia program. She has guided the Cavaliers to the NCAA Tournament in each of her previous 23 seasons.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 24th meeting between the two ACC rivals. Virginia leads the all-time series 12-11. The last game between the Orange and the Cavaliers was played in Charlottesville, Virginia where the Cavaliers narrowly beat the Orange, 17-16. Hawryschuk and Swart led Syracuse with four goals each.
UP NEXT
After starting the season with seven consecutive home games, Syracuse goes on the road for the first time to face No. 2/2 Maryland on Saturday, Mar.9 at noon.
