SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 3/3 Syracuse puts its seven-game winning streak on the line when it hosts No. 21/rv Virginia Tech on Wednesday, April 3 at Christian Brothers Academy located at 6245 Randall Road. Opening Draw is set for 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse improved its record to 12-2, including 4-1 in the ACC, with a 15-14 win over the Duke Blue Devils last Saturday. The Orange are now 4-1 in one goal games this season.

Junior Emily Hawryschuk led the Orange offense with five points on four goals and one assist. Sophomore Sam Swart and freshman Meagan Tyrrell contributed with four points each on three goals and an assist.

Syracuse moved up in the IWLCA poll to No.3 and remains at No. 3 in the Inside Lacrosse media rankings. The Orange started the season ranked No. 15/13.

SCOUTING THE HOKIES
Virginia Tech is coming off a 19-5 loss to then No. 4 North Carolina. The Hokies are now 8-5 overall, including 1-2 in conference.

Sophomore Paige Petty leads the Virginia Tech offense. She has 46 goals and seven assists on the season. Sophomore Emma Crooks is not far behind with 37 goals and five assists. Junior Julia Bolte leads the Hokies in assists with 23. In goal for Virginia Tech is sophomore Morgan Bregman. She has a 10.99 goals-against average and a save percentage of .423.

John Sung is in his second year at the helm of the Virginia Tech program. He led the Hokies to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2018 where they made it to the second round.

THE SERIES
Wednesday's matchup marks the 10th meeting between the Orange and the Hokies. Syracuse leads the all-time series, 8-1, but the Hokies were able to pull off a double-overtime victory last time the two teams met. In the loss, Nicole Levy had a career night with seven points on six goals and an assist.

Syracuse will have 10 days off before returning to action at No. 6/5 North Carolina on Saturday, April 13. Opening Draw is set for 12 p.m.
