SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Eight nationally-televised home games highlight Syracuse's 2019-20 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) women's basketball schedule. The Orange will play 2019 NCAA Finalist Notre Dame, Louisville, Boston College and Pittsburgh in the new format that expands the ACC schedule to 18 regular-season games. Of the 18 regular-season games for 'Cuse, 14 will be nationally televised through the ESPN family of networks, including the new ACC Network, or the conference's Regional Sports Networks (RSN).
The Orange begin the ACC season on the road at Louisville on Sunday, Dec. 29 at the KFC Yum! Center. Tip off is slated for 2 p.m. on ESPN2. Last time the Orange and Cardinals met was Feb. 7, 2019 when then-ranked No. 2 Louisville defeated the No. 15 Orange, 76-51. Junior guard Kiara Lewis led the Orange with 13 points off the bench.
'Cuse opens its home ACC slate with back-to-back home games against NCAA Tournament contenders Florida State (Jan. 2) and Notre Dame (Jan. 5), both of which will be aired on ACC Network.
The Orange then hit the road to face their fourth-straight opponent that made the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2019 when they travel to Miami on Jan. 12 for a noon game against the Hurricanes on ACC Network.
Syracuse hosts Georgia Tech and first-year head coach Nell Fortner on Jan. 16 before hitting the road to face Pittsburgh on Jan. 19 on RSN. 'Cuse hosts Duke on Jan. 23 on ACC Network at 8 p.m. It marks the first time the Blue Devils travel to the Dome since an unranked Syracuse squad upset then-ranked No. 17 Duke, 68-65, in 2018.
Three of the next four games for Syracuse are on the road against Wake Forest, Virginia and Boston College with the only home game on Thursday, Jan. 30, against Virginia Tech at 8 p.m. on ACC Network.
Syracuse and Louisville meet for the second time on Sunday, Feb. 9 in the Salt City followed by a road trip to North Carolina on Feb. 13 for the only regular-season game against the Tar Heels in 2020. Pittsburgh returns to Syracuse on Feb. 16 for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
Second-year head coach Amanda Butler and the Clemson Tigers come to Syracuse on Thursday, Feb. 20. Butler led the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 17 years in 2019.
The Orange's final two road trips of the regular season are to Notre Dame (Feb. 23) and NC State (Feb. 27). 'Cuse hosts Boston College in the ACC finale on Sunday, March 1 at 4 p.m. on RSN. It will be the final game in the Dome before the roof renovation.
Eight ACC opponents reached the postseason in 2019. Three of seven NCAA Tournament teams reached the Sweet Sixteen, while the Hokies of Virginia Tech advanced to the third round of the WNIT.
