SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Orange ice hockey team bolstered its forward lines Tuesday with the signing of Rayla Clemons (Franklin, Mich.). Clemons will begin her academic and athletic career at Syracuse this fall.
"We're very excited to have Rayla joining our class for fall of 2020," head coach Paul Flanagan said. "She will bring a great work ethic and exceptional speed to our forward lines. We admire her strong personal character and passion for the game, and feel she will be a great fit here at Syracuse."
A forward, Clemons plays for Pittsburgh Pens Elite 19U under head coach Chris Stern. Her team recently won its district championship and is heading to USA Hockey Nationals in Blaine, Minn. April 2-6. Clemons has recorded 179 goals and 239 assists since 14U, and previously went to Nationals in 2016 with Little Caesars 16U. She also participated in 2016, '17 and '19 USA Hockey Development Camps.
