Syracuse (4-8-1. 0-6 ACC) hosts long-time rival Pittsburgh (8-6, 1-5 ACC) on Monday, Oct. 18, at 11:00 a.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium.
The game was originally scheduled for Saturday night but wet field conditions caused it to be postponed.
SETTING THE STAGE
The Orange lost to #2 Virginia last Sunday, 5-0. The match marked the end of a three-game stretch for the Orange which featured contests against squads ranked in the top four nationally.
The Panthers were defeated by #4 Duke last Sunday, 5-0.
THE SYRACUSE-PITTSBURGH SERIES
Saturday's pairing will be the 24th matchup between the Orange and the Panthers in women's soccer. Syracuse owns a 12-7-4 advantage in the all-time series, and a 6-2-2 record in home encounters with Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh won last year's contest, 2-0.
PROULX SAVE
Senior Lysianne Proulx has been adding to her career saves total and is tied for fourth all-time at Syracuse with (254). She's posted a double-digit save total in two of the last three matches. She had a career-high 15 against Duke and then added 13 versus Virginia.
GOAL-SCORING PAIR PACE PITT
Freshman forward Sarah Schupansky and junior forward Amanda West have evenly split 12 goals this fall. Schupansky is Pittsburgh's top point-getter, with six goals and four assists. West isn't far behind, with six goals and three assists to her credit.
