Syracuse opens the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference tournament as the 10th seed playing at seventh-seed North Carolina at Dorrance Field in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Wednesday (Nov. 3) at 6 p.m. Fans can get live updates during the match on Twitter (@CuseMSoc) and watch on ACC Network Extra.

ORANGE UPDATE
The Orange are coming off a 2-0 loss to Wake Forest in their final regular season game on Friday (Oct. 29). The Demon Deacons took a 1-0 lead in the closing minutes of the first half. The Orange (8-7-2 overall, 2-5-1 ACC) out-shot Wake Forest 15-9.

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS

Head coach Carlos Somoano is in his 11th season leading the program.
The Tar Heels are 10-5-1 overall and 4-4-0 in the ACC.
North Carolina is ranked 18^th in the United Soccer Coaches Poll.
The Tar Heels are coming off a 3-1 victory against Notre Dame on Friday.

THE SERIES
Wednesday's match will be the ninth meeting between the Orange and the Tar Heels. Four of the eight games in the series have resulted in ties and the Tar Heels have won three games to Syracuse's one. The two teams faced each other in the ACC Championship in 2015 and 2019 with both games ending in a draw.

ORANGE TO WATCH

Freshman forward Curt Calov was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Top 100 Freshman list.
Sophomore forward Deandre Kerr leads the team in goals and is ranked third in the ACC with nine. He is also ranked fifth in the ACC in points with 21.
Senior forward Manel Busquets has scored five goals in the last eight games.
Goalkeeper Russell Shealy recorded a clean sheet against Clemson marking his fourth of the season.
