The Orange are coming off a 2-0 loss to Wake Forest in their final regular season game on Friday (Oct. 29). The Demon Deacons took a 1-0 lead in the closing minutes of the first half. The Orange (8-7-2 overall, 2-5-1 ACC) out-shot Wake Forest 15-9.Â

Wednesday's match will be the ninth meeting between the Orange and the Tar Heels. Four of the eight games in the series have resulted in ties and the Tar Heels have won three games to Syracuse's one. The two teams faced each other in the ACC Championship in 2015 and 2019 with both games ending in a draw.
