
XC and Track Both Set to Race This Weekend

In what might be the only year this happens, Syracuse's cross country and track and field teams will be in action at the same time on Friday, with 'Cuse cross country runners heading to Florida State and the Orange sending track runners to Virginia Tech.
Cross Country Meet Info:

29 teams will race in the men's and women's races (split in two sections for each gender), in what will be the Orange's first cross country competition since the ACC Championships.
Six ranked teams – including Syracuse – will compete in the men's race, while five ranked squads will run in the women's race.
The Orange have All-ACC competitor Amanda Vestri headlining the entrants in the women's race. She'll be joined by Emma Eastman, Olivia Elston, Justus Holden-Betts, Ellie Lawler, Savannah Roark and Abigail Spiers.
The men's seven entrants are Alex Comerford, Silas Derfel, Joe Dragon, Nathan Henderson, Dominic Hockenbury, Matthew Scrape, Aidan Tooker and JP Trojan.

The Orange will send a host of runners to Virginia Tech, including what will be the season-opener for the 'Cuse sprinters.
Action gets underway at 5 p.m. with Bearett Tarris leading things off for Syracuse in the women's 800-meter run.
After that, SU gets things rolling in the 60-meter hurdles with a deep field of competitors. Freshmen Bervin Sims and Anthony Vazquez will make their 'Cuse debut, alongside returners Tyler Garland and Jamil Adams in the first heat. Freshman David Peters is the lone Syracuse runner in heat two, while Isaiah Lewis and Naseem Smith round out the field in heat three. Shaleah Colaire and freshman Ashley Wallace will run for 'Cuse in the women's event.
Eunice Boateng and Jordan Davenport are set to race in the women's and men's 60-meter dashes.
In the men's 3000-meter run Gabriel Planty, Ethan Wechsler, Sam Lawler and Joey Eovaldi will compete, followed by Rachel Bonner, Emma Wilson, Reilly Zink and Jordan Jacob in the women's race.
James Nmah will run in the 400, then Kevin Robertson and Gavin Richards run in the mile. Juliette Keller will run in the women's mile.
Saturday's events end for the Orange with 200-meter runs. Lewis, Sims and Davenport will race for the men, followed by Boateng, Wallace and Colaire for the women.
