
Orange Men Runners Up at Coast-to-Coast Battle

The Orange men took second at the Coast-to-Coast Battle, behind just No. 6 Arkansas, while the Orange women finished seventh overall, in a field of 20 teams, as they were led by a runner-up performance from Amanda Vestri.
The men were led by Joe Dragon (24:09) and JP Trojan (24:12) up front, finishing in third and fourth, respectively. Nathan Henderson took 12th, traversing the 8k course in 24:24, and Aidan Tooker (24:42) also turned in a top-20 finish, taking 19th.
Brody Smith (24:52), was the Orange's fifth scorer in 22nd, followed by Alex Comerford (26th) and Noah Beveridge (30th).
Vestri was the Orange's top finisher in 17:01. She was followed by Sage Brooks (17:57/36th), Annie Boos (18:04/41st), Savannah Roark (18:05/43rd), and Abigail Spiers (18:06/44th), to round out the scoring. Sophia Jacobs-Townsley (46th) and Holly Bent (53rd) were the sixth and seventh finishers.
The Orange also placed four in the top-five of the open 5k. Matthew Scrape (15:18) was the winner, followed by Jack Whetstone in second, Kevin Robertson in fourth and Nathan Lawler in fifth. Emily Lane was the top women's finisher in the open 5k, crossing the line in 18:29.
Syracuse is back in action on Friday, Oct. 15 at a pair of races – the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invite and the PSU National.
