The Syracuse men's cross country team moved up one spot to No. 9 in this week's USTFCCCA Poll, while the women fell to No. 15, down one spot.
Both teams are in a two-week stretch without competition, returning to action on Friday, Oct. 14 at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational.
The men's ranking is the team's highest place in the polls since four years ago this week, when the team was ranked ninth nationally. The women's team's No. 14 ranking last week had been its highest place in the polls since 2014.
Both programs are part of five ranked fall teams at Syracuse – the most fall teams ranked concurrently in school history. Men's soccer (7), men's cross country (9), field hockey (11), women's cross country (15) and football (22) comprise the rankings.
