Syracuse women's basketball leading scorer Dyaisha Fair has been named a region finalist for WBCA Coaches' All-America. Fair is one of 52 student-athletes in Division I women's basketball on the list and joins nine other players from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).Â
The All-America Team, which will be announced later this month, will consist of 10 players. WBCA Regions are composed based on conferences and not geographic region. Syracuse is in Region 1 along with the other ACC institutions. WBCA member coaches may nominated players from their own teams. They then vote for the top eight players in their respective regions from among those players who are nominated. The selection committee, which is composed of head coaches from each region who are elected by their peers, may select up to 12 additional at-large finalists from the remaining pool of nominees.
This season, Fair has scored in double figures in all 32 games leading her team to the postseason for the first time since 2021. She is averaging 20.0 points per game and is shooting 40.2 percent from the field. She has scored 24 points in each of the team's WNIT wins vs. Kent State and Columbia. The 5-foot-5 guard from Rochester, N.Y., has tallied 2,675 career points during her collegiate career at Buffalo and now Syracuse. Fair was named All-ACC First Team and All-Defensive Team after ranking second in the ACC in scoring and leading the ACC in steals per game (2.41).Â

Fair would become the eighth player in program history to earn all-America honors. Syracuse head coach Felisha Legette-Jack was the second player to earn such honors when she was named All-America Honorable Mention by Fast Break Magazine in 1986. The most recent all-American was point guard Tiana Mangakahia who earned WBCA and Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention in 2019.ÂThis season, Fair has scored in double figures in all 32 games leading her team to the postseason for the first time since 2021.
