Orange Ranked #25 in Latest USA Today Poll

For the first time since January 2021, the Syracuse women's basketball team is ranked in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches Top-25 Poll. The Orange debut at No. 25 in the Week 11 Poll after receiving votes each of the previous six weeks. Syracuse is 14-2 overall and 4-1 in the ACC. The Orange are 10-0 at home and have won 14-straight games at the JMA Wireless Dome entering Thursday's home game against Florida State.
Syracuse is led by senior guard Dyaisha Fair who is averaging 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Fair surpassed 3,000 career points in Sunday's come-from-behind win over Clemson and willed the Orange to victory with 14 fourth-quarter points in the 83-82 win. Georgia Woolley is second on the team in scoring with 13.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game while freshman Alyssa Latham and graduate student Alaina Rice each add 11.3 ppg, respectively.Â
The Orange went 2-0 last week with a road win at Wake Forest, 77-56, and a home win vs. Clemson. 'Cuse erased a 19-point third quarter deficit to win, 83-82, behind a Latham layup with seven seconds to play. Fair scored 21 points in the win, 19 in the second half, on her way to becoming the 16th Division I women's basketball player in history to score 3,000 points.Â
